Tracks, albums and artists: MusicBrainz and Wikidata

Card information (names, release dates, ISRC codes, links between tracks, albums and artists) comes from MusicBrainz, whose core data is in the public domain (CC0), and from Wikidata (CC0).

Worldwide notoriety: Wikipedia, Wikidata and ListenBrainz

A card's rarity follows its artist's worldwide notoriety: the number of languages in which Wikipedia has an article about them, the views of those articles over 12 months (public Wikimedia Foundation statistics, CC0) and their number of listeners on ListenBrainz (MetaBrainz Foundation, CC0). A track's or album's share comes from its ListenBrainz plays. It is recomputed every month.

Covers: Cover Art Archive

Covers are displayed from the Cover Art Archive (a MusicBrainz and Internet Archive project). They remain the property of their authors and are not stored by bVolt.

Artist photos: Wikimedia Commons

Artist photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses (Creative Commons or public domain). Each photo's author and license are shown on the card's page, with a link to the file page. When no free photo exists, the card is shown without a photo.

Previews: Deezer

30-second previews are streamed directly from Deezer and never stored. Some older cards still show a Deezer image until a free image is available.

Spotify

“Listen on Spotify” links simply open a Spotify search. bVolt does not use the Spotify API and is not affiliated with Spotify.
